Batata Poha Or Potato Poha Or Potato Aval Upma/ Breakfast Recipes

As you all know That I have shared with you the simple version of Poha earlier. So today I am going to show the same dish, with potato. This a popular breakfast dish in many other States of India. This is simple yet delicious dish. Mom used to make this dish mostly on Sundays, and after moving to USA it was almost a year after Jeet made this dish, it was so yummy and reminded my mom. Since then I started making batata poha and I cook it weekly once. So, lets get started.
Ingredients:
| Poha | 1 cup |
| Cumin seeds | 1 tsp |
| Potato | 1/4 cup |
| Sesame seeds | 1/2 tsp |
| Ginger garlic paste | 1 tsp |
| Green chili paste | 1/2 tsp |
| Salt | to taste |
| Oil | 2 Tbsp |
| Coriander powder | 1 tsp |
| Turmeric | 1/4 tsp |
| Curry leaves | 2 to 3 |
| Asafetida | A pinch |
Method:
Wash poha and drain the water. Add two tablespoons of water to it and set aside for 15 minutes. In a pan heat oil, add cumin seeds and asafetida.
Add ginger garlic paste, green chili paste, turmeric and cook for a minute. Then add the potato and fry until the potatoes are cooked.
Now add sesame seeds, salt and mix well. Add poha to it mix well and transfer it to the serving dish.
Garnish with cilantro and serve hot.
