Chocolate Burfi | Diwali Sweets

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Chocolate Burfi is one of my favorites since childhood. As a child I always used to have the chocolate layer and leave the rest to my mom. Well, its a best Diwali sweet for all those chocolate lovers. Its perfect for any party or festival. I have tried this recipe couple of times only with maida (all purpose flour) and also just with khoya or milk powder, but I was not satisfied with the taste. This is my version of Chocolate Burfi, hope you all like it.

Ingredients:

1 cup Maida (All Purpose Flour)
1 can Condensed Milk
1/2 cup Milk Powder
2-3 Tablespoon Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/4 cup Ghee

Method:

Heat ghee in a pan until it melts completely. Add maida (all purpose flour) to it and keep stirring continuously until you get rid of the raw smell.

Now add the condensed milk, milk powder and vanilla extract. Keep stirring until it forms thick.

Remove half of the mixture on to the greased plate and level it with the spatula. Now add cocoa powder to the remaining mixture and mix well.

Once it's mixed well, pour it over the white mixture and layer it with the spatula. Let it cool down before you cut them into pieces. You can either freeze it for 20 minutes for quicker process.
